D & C – Dilatation and Curettage

A surgical procedure which involves scraping of the endometrial lining of the uterus. The procedure is usually done in cases of Abnormal & excessive Uterine Bleeding and in infertility patients. The scraped material is then sent to the laboratory for further evaluation.

A surgical procedure which involves removal of the uterus either with or without the ovaries (oophorectomy). The uterus can either be removed vaginally, abdominally or through minimal invasive (laparoscopic route). The route of hysterectomy needs to be individualized in every case.

Myomectomy is the surgical procedure of removal of fibroids from the uterus. It is a fertility preserving surgery and is an alternative to hysterectomy. Fibroids of the uterus are a known cause of excessive menstrual bleeding, painful menses ( dysmenorrhea ) and in some cases infertility. Myomectomy operations in selected cases help resolve symptoms while at the same time preserve a womans fertility.

Removal of ovarian cysts

Ovarian cyst removal is a procedure to remove a cyst from one or both of your ovaries. The cysts have to be surgically removed if they are large and persistent and causing symptoms or if there are concerns that it could be cancerous.

Electrocautery is a procedure that involves burning genital warts on the penis, vulva, or around the anus with a low-voltage electrified probe. Generally, electrocautery is performed in the clinic under local anesthesia.


Cryocauterization/ electrocauterization of cervical erosions

Cervical erosion (also known as cervical ectropion and ectopy) is a common disorder that occurs when glandular cells (soft cells) from inside the cervical canal appear on the cervix's exterior surface (neck of the womb). Both cryocauterization and electrocauterizationare equally good treatment options. In cryocauterization, extremely cold carbon dioxide is used to freeze the affected area.
